Yesterday we celebrated our third wedding anniversary. We ate dinner at the once famous Yamashiro restaurant in the hills of Hollywood overlooking much of LaLa land. We had a very nice evening together. I love this girl a lot.

Three years seems so wimpy, so immature, so naive. People go to to college for more than three years (sometimes three or four times that amount). Kids can’t even be left alone when they’re three years old. A tree that is three years old is usually pretty unimpressive.

Obviously it takes all the years before the many years to equal the total years so I am not disowning the process. I’m actually loving the journey with my best friend, lover, and wife. She is everything I could ask for and then some. The future looks better with her in it and I can’t wait to see where God takes us.

This month we also celebrate nine years of knowing each other. We met in late July 1995 and then actually talked to each other on a river rafting trip a few weeks later with a youth organization we were involved with for several years. Our first real conversation actually happened at a Burger King while on that trip. I spilled mustard on my shirt and things continued to get spicier from there.
