Christmas Tidings 2004
Note: This is a copy of a letter sent by Jamaica’s family in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Breathe deeply. The night fills your lungs with air that is cold and pure, while the brightest of all stars illunines your every step. Enjoying the silence that stills your soul, you are suddenly awakened by a phenomenon of sight and sound. Sky-borne angels sing unspeakable songs that swallow you up in the glory of God. You stand in awe and abject fear, before hurrying towards what cannot be, Messiah….Messiah born in a manger.
Welcome to Christmas night, where shepherds found Him, the desire of every nation, our Prince of Peace. Let earth receive her King, let each heart find Love that never fails. Breathe Him in. Breathe deeply.
The Spirit that gives Life eternal has been actively changing the Duncan family in 2004. We are so grateful for His undying love.
Jamaica and Brad continue to live in Arcadia, California. Brad’s met the challenges in his communications office at Foursquare, Intl., his b-moore graphics company and the happy intensity of life with Jamaica. Jamaica has pursued becoming who she is through grad school, church, faithful relationships (with Brad at the top of the list) and daily loving her God.
Eliza studies hard at Moody and works hard at Wildfire Grill. She’s had some fun, too, including a ski trip and white water rafting in Colorado and para- gliding off a glacier in Alaska. Her beauty grows as she pursues a real life of faith in Jesus.
Colin got to shine as a starting forward on his high school soccer team. They made it to Colorado State playoffs. Like his sisters, he’s a good student and is enjoying his senior year, looking forward to a happy winter working at Outback to help support his new snowboarding habit. He’s a vital part of his youthgroup at Restoration Church.
Forest and Cynthia love their kids (can you tell?) and have enjoyed this year of pursuing prayer for America. Forest has joined forces with Second Chance Deconstruction and Remodelling. He’s been stretched in developing leadership skills. He’s been faithful to God, family and friends. Cynthia has done some substitute teaching and tutoring, dabbled in artwork, while fighting persistent health problems. She looks forward to a possible writing project, but even more to the gathering of our family together this Christmas.
We love you all and hope you will celebrate joyfully this holiday season. A very Merry Christmas and Happy, happy New Year! Please keep in touch.
The Duncans
