Minor Blog Updates
Every once in a while I get a hankering to tweak my blog and make a few changes to it. Unfortunately, this desire usually comes when I have way too many other things to do that I don't feel like doing. I've been out of town the past week but for some reason clearing out my inbox sounds more daunting than delightful right now. Besides, it's Sunday, Jamaica is having an extended brunch with girlfriends, and it's not often I get to be a slacker. To the three of you that read my blog, here are a few of the changes I've made:
- Added my Twitter feed to the left column so you can briefly browse through what I've been doing lately. I just started using Twitter so I don't know how long this will last. It's a really easy way to keep a running journal of my day's events that I think will end up being more interesting to me than anyone else.
- Added a link on my Gallery page to my Mac Gallery.
- Updated and revised my Influences page with blogs, brains and books.
- Subtle content and graphic changes that give me opportunity to hone my paltry tech skills.
I can't believe I actually just wrote a blog entry about this.

Who Is Ron Paul?
I've been mildly intrigued by Ron Paul ever since I started seeing random campaign signs sprinkled around Los Angeles. Who is this no name nobody that has built so much support and momentum?
I saw an "inspirational" video earlier this evening that communicates more about this mystery man. It wasn't as moving as the Barack Obama video I blogged earlier this week, but Ron Paul echoes so many of the issues I resonate with.

Commitment
Mark Batterson shared a takeaway from some time he spent with Rick Warren yesterday. He said that we grow by making commitments. "You don't grow to commitment. You grow through commitment."
What a powerful perspective on how to do life. I think the less we're committed to something, the more we commit to anything. I am reminded of the familiar phrases we often hear when someone is struggling with an addiction. "He should be committed." "She was finally committed after the last arrest." Commitment is definitely an answer to overcoming some of life's greatest challenges, but imagine how much more meaningful life would be if commitment helped guide our life instead of resuscitate our life.
What am I committed to?

Yes, We Can
To say that Trampas--our neighbor across the hall--is a huge Barack Obama fan would be the understatement of the decade. Every time I have seen Trampas over the last few months he is wearing an Obama for president T-shirt. And although he's not as bad as this girl (viewer discretion advised), Trampas is certainly fanatical.
Tonight during a homeowner's association meeting (you gotta love those) was no exception. He pulled me aside and asked if I had seen the "Yes, We Can" video that Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas put together. I hadn't until just now. I love it.
It's difficult to ignore how inspiring Obama is.
